DR MOTO RIDES
We built DR Moto Rides to give others the opportunity of enjoying the Dominican Republic’s curvy roads, the river crossings and waterfalls, the dense forests and the hidden beaches the way we love to: on two wheels. We love riding, and we explore often, both on road and offroad. Every chance we get we invite our friends, and through DR Moto Rides we hope that you too get a chance to see what’s outside of the beach resorts and the cities, and get to know the deep, the wild, the places few have seen in the Dominican Republic.
THE TEAM
DR Moto Rides is a company born from a love for adventure. We exist for the explorers, the doers, the brave. Our team is here to help you get to the places you haven’t yet seen but need to explore, the hidden gems, the paths less travelled.
MELISSA
MELISSA
Melissa started her motorcycle journey as a motocross rider training under champion Hector “El Mime” Cordero. After several injuries, she transitioned to Enduro where she has become known as one of the best female riders in the country. She later took on ADV riding and has completed a number of rallies and challenges riding bikes of all sizes. She is an extremely capable off-road rider and is known by the friends she rides with for riding last in the group to help others who get stuck.
Aside from riding motorcycles, Melissa is the Founder of DR Moto Rides, where she is also the operations manager. She enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities and often goes off-roading in Jeeps and UTVs with friends and family. In her non-riding time, Melissa is a markerting specialist, enjoys crossfit and spending time with her dogs and family.
DAVID
David’s riding journey started with a call to adventure: He bought a motorcycle, paid a pickup truck to take it home and then googled “How to ride a motorcycle”. A few youtube videos later, he was off to see the world. Eventually, the allure of dirt roads led him to buying a dual sport bike, and later joining the local enduro club’s beginners group. These days he’s a much better rider and enjoys both ADV and enduro.
Aside from riding, David runs a succesful software development company, trains brazilian jiujitsu and recently got his private pilot’s license for airplanes. He is an active member of the Bahá’í community and is working on developing a non-profit supporting projects related to healthcare, animal welfare, education and poverty-alleviation. When travelling abroad, David always rents motorcycles and goes out to explore. He got involved with DR Moto Rides after realizing there was no place for him to rent ADV bikes in the DR!
